Eustress & distress management

The "Enterprise & eustress" project, designed and developed in collaboration with the Iulm University of Castellanza and PGA ( dTeam’s partner), has entered the pilot phase.

Stress can be unpleasant and harmful, in this case we speak about “distress”, or stimulating and precious - this is “eustress”. In workplaces we generally focus on the elimination of negative stressors neglecting the development of the positive ones. But the positive stressors are fundamental to brave the challenges and to achieve faster our professional goals.

The "Enterprise & eustress" project, based on questionnaires and in-depth comparisons detects the type of stress in act and allows to design actions capable of transformation of distress into eustress. The benefits can be great: from improvement of the company climate to growth of the economic outcomes.

Training methods
Outdoor training and traditional classroom methods decrease (but still are the most practiced) while blended learning methods keep growing. Other methods of great interest are action learning and coaching / mentoring.

Francesco Cavallotti, CEO of dTeam, presented a long term training project for Sigma Elettroniforniture Group. The main purpose of the project is to extend the 2010 training, which involved the owners of the Sigma Group affiliates, to the whole commercial chain. An experiential training with a team of teachers and skippers,  alternating classroom and labs on deck and  in under-deck. During the evening sessions, sailing-team metaphors will be used for the  recall of corporate and business issues covered.

The workshop focuses on public communication issues using some theatre techniques. Participants will have a chance to examine and experience  communication aspects which seem to be well known, but are rarely put in practice such as:
  • Voice developing and handling (volume control, tone and articulation),
  • Capability to capture and hold the audience’s attention using breaks and changing  speech rhythm and tone,
  • Working on non-verbal communication aspects: listening to the others’ body language, increasing one’s  own body language communication awareness and accuracy,
  • Learning to use tensions and emotions rather than controlling them.
